Group Therapy

Through group therapy, clients gain knowledge and achieve personal growth through self-understanding, support, and relating constructively and adaptively within a group.

We provide therapy groups that focus on specific problems members may experience in a similar manner:

Parenting

Parenting therapy groups provide an understanding of parenting styles and explore tools to provide a healthy childhood experience when raising children and youth.

Parent-child bond

Parents and their children or youth explore early attachment experiences with the aim to build or rebuild supportive and trusting relationships. These groups will ultimately prepare them to form strong bonds in other relationships as well.

Victims of abuse

The victims of abuse group is designed to help children, youth, or adults recognize, accept, recover, and heal from past traumatic experiences.

Domestic violence

Domestic violence groups provide clients with an opportunity to know they are not alone in their struggle. During treatment, clients identify healthy and unhealthy patterns in relationships, identify ways to increase their safety, recognize their own empowerment, improve self-esteem, learn to decrease the effects of trauma through effective coping skills, increase their ability to process information successfully, and achieve healthier interpersonal relationships.

Substance use

These groups are for clients that already had an initial period of detoxification in which their physical symptoms of withdrawal were safely managed in an inpatient or outpatient facility under the care of a medical professional.

During groups, clients have the opportunity to connect with one another in a supportive environment where they explore the core reason for seeking substance use. This allows individuals to process and heal from past traumatic experiences, learn anger management skills, manage negative moods, assess high risk situations of use, learn to cope with cravings and urges, manage thoughts, achieve problem solving skills and decision making skills, increase pleasant activities, plan for emergencies, and enhance social support. Our ultimate goal is for clients to achieve a long-term recovery and move forward in their lives.
